On October 30, 1965 Rev. Frs. Joseph Peechanattu and George Vempilly, the pioneers of the North Indian Vincentian missionaries reached Raipur. Rev. Fr. Joseph Peechanattu was appointed as assistant to Rev. Fr. Peter Paul to look after the needs of the Catholics at Bhilai and Durg. The land for the Vincentian House and the Church was bought in 1967. The church at Durg was blessed on July 19, 1969 and it was made a separate parish with Rev. Fr. Joseph Peechanattu as its first Parish Priest. The Prabhat Printing Press cum training centre was started by Rev. Fr. Thomas Kuzhippala. Rev. Fr. Sebastian Moolechalil built the present church. Anjora is a sub station of Durg parish where every Sunday Holy Mass is offered.
The Sisters of Franciscan Clarist Congregation run Vishwadeep Hr. Sec. School here and render their services in pastoral, educational and social fields in the parish of Durg.
