In 1968, Rev. Fr. Abele, SAC started the spade work of the new station of Sarsiwa from Kutela, Saraipali. It was Rev. Fr. Stanislaus Paul who laid the foundation of Sarsiwa mission. On December 8, 1968 the parish of Sarsiwa was erected. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chirayath became the first parish priest with effect from September 16, 1970. Rev. Frs. Joseph Chirayath and Chacko Kunnappally were working hand in hand. Rev. Fr. Joseph Chirayath built the church, the hostel for boys, the convent and the hospital. A school has been started by the Archdiocese here.

Sisters of Mary Immaculate (S.M.I) known as Krisnanagar sisters run the hospital. They also run a training centre for ANMs. Sisters are actively involved in the pastoral ministry of the parish.
