Tumgaon is a very old mission station which was started by Msgr. Hunold. Land was purchased in the year 1956. Thanks to Rev. Fr. De Meulder, there were many Catholics in and around Tumgaon and Boring. Rev Fr. Adam, SAC started health care services in Tumgaon with his residence at Abhanpur and Rev. Fr. Abraham Tailamnal, SAC continued the services in this area giving special attention to leprosy patients for whom a center was built. There used to be resident priests in the parish but later on it was abandoned. Health care services continued for some times but that also is not functioning any more. This station now comes under Mahasamund parish. Practically there are no Catholics in that area now.
