On December 1st 1973, the Pallottine Fathers arrived at Katghora with a view of serving the Tribal people of this area. After the founding fathers paved the way for this new missionary endeavors, Rev. Fr. Jacob Thomas did a real pioneering work in this area. The villages are spread out at a great distance up to 125 kms and there are many Tribal Catholics in the mission. It is not possible for people to come regularly to the church for worship and so the priests reach out to them in certain village centers at regular intervals.
